The Chicago Bears, Lucky or Good?

There’s a saying, “I’d rather be lucky than good”. And right now, for the most part, the Bears have been lucky. Sure they’ve had some stretches in games, were they’ve been good. But really other teams have just folded down the stretch, and the Bears were able to comeback to get the win. And that is just what happened against Detroit and Atlanta. And they had a good lead early, yet barely held on for the win against New York.

Whether it’s a nice touchdown drive here, or the defense playing well for a few series, the Bears have yet to put a full game together. But here they are at 3-0, and I’m as happy as if they dominated. After all, the NFC North standing doesn’t keep track of how you win, just the wins and loses. And right now the Bears are tied at the top of the division, with the Packers who are also 3-0.

The Bears next opponent is Indianapolis. The Colts are 2-1 and this game should really show us what the Bears have to offer this season. Win in whatever fashion, lucky or good, and it says that they are a real contender for the playoffs. Lose, and I guess you know what that says.
